Taking a break tonight and will be jumping into a Battlefield game after this post. I’ve received the Battlefield One preorder as a birthday gift thanks to the wifey! I had this game since launch and I must say, I am slightly dissatisfied with the game. I had great hopes for it. The game looks amazing and the World War 1 setting is really nice. The ability to jump over walls and to charge at enemies with a bayonet are nice to have. But… The game seems a bit… slow and empty.

Hear me out… the maps are massive and greatly detailed. The weather elements change the dynamics of the battlefield and is much appreciated. You can play the same map twice and have different weather effects that will change your play style. It may be sunny and clear… perfect for sniping and long range shooting. Or it could be thick fog, which is perfect for some shotty action.

The vehicles are authentic and feel like legit World War 1 era vehicles. They are slow, bulky, dangerous and can take a bit to get used to. The behemoths are HUGE and gives the losing team a chance to regain their stance in the fight. Sometimes it glitches out and show up seconds before the game ends, which sucks. Also, the horses. Oohh the horses and the horse battles. Nothing beats hard charging on a stallion towards your enemy with a sword. Feels great. I think they missed out in the ability of giving your friend a ride on the back of the horse. There’s more than enough room and us humans have been doing it for a while. These huge maps only give you like 2 or 3 horses per team. Per team of 32 players. Being able to give your buddy a lift on a horse would help with the transportation issues.

I still haven’t felt completely sold on purchasing Premium or getting the new maps yet. I’ve purchased premium for BF3, and twice for BF4. (went from PS3 to PC) I love BF4 so much that I was more than happy to purchase premium again. While I occasionally play BF1, BF4 is still my goto for late night sniping fun. Do you play battlefield? Look me up on PC: VyporX
